The Orem Public Art - Utility Box program gives local artists an opportunity to add some color and creativity to the community. Residents will submit their designs and members of the Arts Council will choose which ones they want to proceed with. Chosen designs will be turned into a vinyl wrap and applied to utility boxes around Orem.
Please submit photos/mock-ups of your design. If your submission is selected, we will work with you to sign an official agreement, and to receive a final draft in the appropriate scale and file type. You are welcome to submit final drafts, rough drafts, concept sketches, or just examples of artwork that will inspire your not-yet-created original piece. Orem will provide a cash stipend in exchange for permission to use your artwork. While everyone is welcome to submit art, preference will be given to Orem residents.
To be approved, artwork must be an original idea and design, and must NOT:
- Must not have large areas of blank color leaving space for graffiti
- Must not include trademarks, brands, business names, logos, or copyrighted images
- Must not include images that are outrightly political or religious
- Must not include images that contain nudity, violence, or other upsetting content
