This is an 80-hour POST course under Plan IV. This course is designed to both mentally and physically prepare motor officers to safely and effectively operate a police motorcycle while performing a variety of law enforcement duties. Extensive time will be utilized by the course instructors towards building the students skill level as well as their confidence level when riding a police motorcycle. The course curriculum strongly emphasizes the safe, competent operation of the police motorcycle while paying particular attention to acceptable standards of rider capabilities and judgment. This is a "no brake" course in that the use of brakes is restricted to specific exercises that are the subject of braking and exercises specifically authorizing the use of brakes. Emphasis is on clutch-throttle control.

Class size is limited to first 12 applicants. All other applicants will be advised on future class dates in the order applications are received.

The Ontario Police Department will supply an Invoice to your agency for payment towards this course. Please allow 10-15 days from your submission date for an invoice. Modes of payment will be for credit card or e-check through an online portal. 

Questionaire

The Ontario Police Department's Traffic Team suggests a minimum of 80 hours of pre-training and recommends and prefers a minimum of 160 hours of pre-training. Please answer the following question to better gauge the level of riding you currently have prior to attending this course.
