The Orem Wellness Committee is proud to host the 3rd Annual Presidential Bowling Tournament. This year the bowling costs will be covered for the first 50 registrants and there will be a variety of prizes. In this tournament, you don't even have to be good at bowling to win prizes.

  • The tournament will consist of two games and comes with the shoes. Plan on 1.5 hours for the tournament. Miracle Bowl will have the grill fired up if you want to grab lunch while we’re bowling.

  • There will be a variety of prizes and not just for the high scores. You could be completely terrible at bowling and still win. This will be a tournament like no other.

Come celebrate the presidents with us, get some "exercise," and hang out with a fun bunch of co-workers.

If anyone is questioning the health benefits of bowling, let me hit you with some science. Here's what bowling can do for your health:

Burns Calories

Bowling burns anywhere from 175-300 calories an hour.

Strengthened Muscles

The average bowling ball weighs around 14 pounds. When you repeatedly swing and release the ball, that 14-pound weight tones your shoulders, arms, chest, and legs.

Improved Flexibility and Balance

The twisting, lunging, and stretching bowling requires improves your flexibility. Every time you extend your arm and body, your joints, ligaments, and muscles are extending with it.

Better Hand-Eye Coordination

Throwing a ball and striking a group of pins nearly 60 feet away requires a lot of hand-eye coordination. Think about it. In basketball, the half court line is 47 feet to the net – which means you're throwing a bowling ball further than an NBA halfcourt shot.

Improved social life

Bowling is a social sport. Whenever you're not on the lane, you're usually hanging out with your teammates and friends. According to Psychology Today, people who socialize even once a week tend to have stronger immunity and are at less likely to suffer from depression and certain types of cancer.
